Surabaya, April 2026 – The Indonesian government has set targets to accelerate the development of the Battery-Based Electric Motor Vehicle (KBLBB) ecosystem as part of the national energy transition. In this framework, the Sinergi Satu Rasa Sustainable Development Foundation (SSR Foundation) facilitates the 'Training and Certification of Competency Standards for Electrical Engineering Technical Personnel in the Subfield of Operating Electrical Power Utilization Installations' activity.
This activity is part of real support for the ENTREV Project (Enhancing Readiness for the Transition to Electric Vehicles in Indonesia), which is a collaboration between UNDP and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources through the Directorate General of Electricity. As a development partner, SSR Foundation plays an active role in facilitating the implementation of this training and certification to the Center for Human Resource Development in Electrical Power, New and Renewable Energy, and Energy Conservation (PPSDM KEBTKE), Ministry of ESDM.
Located at the PT PLN (Persero) UID Surabaya Office, East Java, this activity was held for three consecutive days. Training was conducted from Tuesday to Thursday, April 21–23, 2026. A total of 10 Vocational High School (SMK) students participated in this program intensively. During the activity, participants received various comprehensive briefings with the following agenda details:
Day 1 (April 21, 2026): Participants receive briefing on electrical technical materials, understanding of KBLBB regulations, and introduction to Public Electric Vehicle Charging Station (SPKLU) infrastructure by PPSDM KEBTKE instructors.
Day 2 (April 22, 2026): Training continues with practical sessions and simulation of competencies in operating electrical power utilization installations, understanding of occupational safety aspects (K2), and preparation for certification assessment.
Day 3 (April 23, 2026): Assessment and competency testing conducted by assessors from PPSDM KEBTKE to determine eligibility for certification as Electrical Power Utilization Installation Technician.

The ENTREV Project emphasizes the importance of training and competency certification so that vocational school graduates have specific abilities towards SPKLU infrastructure and the KBLBB ecosystem broadly. This activity is carried out with the following objectives:
Socializing regulations and policies related to training programs and KBLBB electrical technician competency certification.
Increasing participants' understanding and skills about all aspects of electrical engineering, including occupational safety.
Facilitating KBLBB electrical technician competency certification that can be used as a Diploma Supplement Certificate (SKPI) for participants.
Facilitating KBLBB electrical technician competency certification that can be used as a Diploma Supplement Certificate (SKPI) for participants.

The final results of this activity were very satisfactory, where all 10 participants were declared PASSED. The Sinergi Satu Rasa Sustainable Development Foundation hopes that this activity can become a real step together with all stakeholders, including the ENTREV project, PPSDM, and PLN, in realizing Human Resource readiness to face the Battery-Based Electric Vehicle (KBLBB) ecosystem era in Indonesia.
